F.A.Q.

HOW IMPORTANT IS PRAYER IN SHARING THE GOSPEL?

How important is prayer in sharing the gospel? Absolutely vital! Engaging in cult apologetics without prayer is like entering the battlefield without a weapon. That is why the apostle Paul ends his great sermon on the armor of God by warning that the spiritual soldier must “with all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit” (Eph. 6:18). There is no magic formula for a dynamic prayer life. You must get back to the basics.

HOW CAN I PRACTICALLY IMPART GOD’S WISDOM TO MY CHILDREN?

God has given us a book of wisdom. It is the Book of Proverbs. And in our family, we read the Book of Proverbs at the breakfast table most every morning – especially when our grandchildren are present. We encouraged our children and now encourage our grandchildren to pick a proverb (they take turns picking a proverb), and then we discuss that proverb. Since there are thirty-one chapters in Proverbs, there is always one for each day of the month. We try to choose the chapter that corresponds with the day of the week. That has become a great time to teach the Bible and build character.

WHAT IS THE WILL OF GOD FOR MY LIFE?

Get into God’s Word. Read Psalm 119:105. As you pray and seek Him through the reading of His Word, He will lead you. Also read Psalm 23:2-3, 25:5, 43:3, 139:24, and 143:10. Trust that He will not let you down and will take care of you…opening doors and closing windows where He doesn’t want you to go. Secondly, God also leads us by speaking to us in the quietness of our hearts. You know, prayer is a two-way street. You do not pray at God you talk with God. God has a plan for you. Read Jeremiah 29:11-14. It’s a good plan that He wants you to get in on if you will wait before Him and listen to His still voice that is giving you direction.
